Woah! It’s 2012. Forget diets, learning a new language and hitting the treadmill. This year I need some fabulousNew Year’s resolutions to make and break in 2012…
Forget Kelly Rowland, Tulisa, or Little Mix! It’s all about Caroline Flack this series of X Factor! Everything she wears is 100% up my street; little dresses, playsuits, shorts and blouses, not to mention her love of the British high-street shops. Caroline, I salute you! Continue reading »
Eek! Metallic jeans are EVERYWHERE, and I’m worried because I think I want a pair. Yes, I know, they’re a bit in your face and ‘ooh look at me’, but they’re so pretty and shiny, not to mention bang on trend this season!
I do blame Christmas for my wardrobe right now; it’s bulging with glitter, lace, faux fur and sequins – I’m a walking, talking glitterball! For this particular trend I’m going to try and tone it down and follow in the footsteps of the model to my left. How gorgeous does she look? I’m going to wear my hair loose and throw on a comfy knit just like she has. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and don’t you forget it!
This could go so right, or so very wrong but I’m willing to give it a whirl, are you? Shop yours at Mango and Zara. Good luck!
Jeeze Louise! What a crazy week I’ve had. So I’m still working at Cosmopolitan.co.uk and I’m still having a wonderful, fabulous, amazing time. This week it was the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women Awards hosted by the gorgeous Fearne Cotton (left), and I got to go! There were a LOT of famous people there, some girl called Kylie Minogue, not sure if you know her or not! Continue reading »
Winter is fast approaching and I have only one thing on my mind – glitter! Yep, it happens every year, as soon as the temperature drops I resort to being a 13 year old teenager who thinks glitter spray is like so, totally cool, ok! But fear not, I’m stepping away from the can of glitter spray, and instead I’ll be stepping INTO a pair of glitterydisco shoes!
Hurrah, it’s Talon Tuesday! It’s also October, and you know what that means don’t you? Halloween people. Whilst I have no plans for the 31st, I’m getting in early with these pumpkin inspired nails.
Earlier today I brought this new polish from Topshop, it’s called Smashing Pumpkin (love it!), and I can’t wait to wear it. I reckon burnt orange is going to be the shade of the season.
Wow! I love this Indian summer! ! I won’t lie, I’m not exactly thrilled at having to embrace my summer wardrobe again (over it now!) but I do love a bit of vitamin D, and it’s a good excuse to try out the best summer hair trends, or more specifically, plaited hair.
I love all kinds of plaits; from the simple side plait (like the model pictured), a cute little braid woven in with tousled locks, a french plait for the evening, but most of all I love the fishtail plait
Whilst my hair isn’t quite long enough to pull this look off (grow hair, grow!), I have to say it’s the one look that never fails to impress. It’s just so classy, so chic and most of all, it’s a whole lot easier to do than you think.
My favourite How-To video has to be Lauren Conrad conquering the fishtail plait. Go on give it a try:
Who knew Cruella de Vil would be the ultimate style icon for AW11? Don’t be alarmed, I’m not talking about bringing any harm to cute puppies – animal cruelty isn’t my thing! No, what I mean is Dalmatian print is proving to be a massive trend this season and well, if I had a tail it would be wagging like crazy right now.
May I welcome you to Talon Tuesday! Every week I’m going to show off the nail art that I’m desperate to copy. First off we have these bad boys! Don’t they look amazing? Whilst they look like summer nails, they are the perfect nod to next season, thanks in large part to the dalmatian print. Love love love. What do you think?
What is wrong with me? When I go shopping I try a hat on, buy it and promise myself this is it! I’ll actually wear this one all the time. But I don’t – It just stays in my wardrobe gathering dust with the rest of them.
The problem I have now though is the 70s floppy hat trend (thanks in no small part to Jennifer Lopez) is going nowhere people. I brought mine (a gorgeous black 70s inspired number) from H&M a couple of weeks ago but whenever I put it on to leave the house, I chicken out and take it off.
Ok, so I won’t go on with this one, it was sooo last week! But on Friday 16th September I made another trip to The Sanctum Hotel in London, but this time to gawp at the phenomenon that is Britney Spears.
Britney was in London town to celebrate the Femme Fatale tour coming to the UK, and after waiting for what felt like ages for her to arrive, she walked in with the paparazzi going wild (of course!). Britney shocked everyone by wearing a Lipsy dress (high-street!) teaming it with a pair of Candies boots. With her hair pulled up high and make-up pristine, I was very impressed with glamBritney – I won’t lie, I was half expecting her to waltz in wearing a velour trackie.
